ARTIST STATEMENT

I paint.  This is what I do, who I am.  My purpose is to seize the moment with energy, spirit and passion

I am known for my garden and coastal oil paintings which are executed in strong strokes and bold colors that exude a confidence and love for that genre. When I paint all else ceases to exist and I’m caught in a space that has no time or expectation.  There is only pure joy.  It is comfortable yet unpredictable, exciting yet peaceful, a place to lose myself and yet find myself. Having painted for over forty years, I still feel the excitement and challenge of each new painting. I hope you'll feel the joy also.
