About artist

East Boothbay resident, Andrea Peters has been oil painting her whole life.  Having lived in Massachusetts, it was her permanent move to Maine in 1995 that brought her work much honor and recognition. She attended Vesper George School of Art,  Massachusetts College of Art, and under the tutelage of marine painter Roger Curtis (1910-2000).

She is known for her garden and coastal paintings, bold color, confident stroke and deep love for that genre. The Portland Press Herald featured a story of her by Bob Keyes in December 2008. In 2010 she was featured in an article in Down East Magazine written by Edgar Allen Beem complimenting her skill painting Maine winters.  Another painting, Spring Coast” was chosen cover for the 2014 Spring L.L.Bean Catalog.  Besides being in private collections throughout the US and Europe, her paintings are included in the permanent collection of the Farnsworth Museum , ME, New Britain Museum of Art, CT, and The Hoyt Institute of Art, PA.
